MACAA Head Start is now accepting applications for the 2010-2011 school year. Head Start is a federally funded comprehensive pre-school readiness program for low-income families. Classrooms are located in the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Louisa, Fluvanna, and Nelson. Transportation is available in most areas. If your child will be age 3 or 4 by September 30, 2010 they are eligible to apply. Head Start welcomes children with disabilities. Come join us for a morning of fun with the flower fairies. We will tell stories about the fairies that live on Forrest Green Farm. Then we will build our own fairy houses out of gourds attached to a wood bases. There will be an abundance of natural materials to adorn our fairy homes with and some special effects to be added for fairy flair (sparkling butterflies, jewels, and fairies). NEEDLE FELTING CLASS

Amy & Heidi, of the Wooly Bull Frog, will be offering a needle felting class using natural fibers. In this class, you will learn the basics of needle felting on a simple project with a horse theme (Pegasus, unicorn, or traditional horse). Each child will take home a needle felting kit (needle, pad, and some fiber). For children under 7, it is recommended that an adult stay to help them.
